What better Christmas present for a teenager than temporary dreadlocks. The recipient has no idea I can make anything like this, or that I even know about them - so this ought to be a great surprise. Plus it was very fun to make these using traditional wet feltmaking methods. Sheep fleece: shorn, carded and dyed by someone else, which I layed out, rolled with water, soap, sometimes a gentle touch sometimes a firm hand. Eventually this mix of fiber, water, soap and elbow grease became a felted dreadlock. The little ones were boo boos turned into bangs.

I totally wish I could be there to see the face of the teenager when the dawning of "damn, she's cool!" appears on her face :) Merry Christmas to you!
