Creating with cast offs

Well as many of you know, my husband became interested in Kumihimo braiding last spring. That then lead to him an interest in stones. He started out buying polished stone donuts for pendants on braided cord necklaces. Oh my! that inspired a passion for stone jewelry making. Ah well, more in ordering stones to use in jewelry making. LOL. Though he has finished many donut necklaces and two lovely entirely stone bead necklaces. At any rate that is the back story to the cast offs. He got some diamond shape Rhodonite beads - then decided he did not like pink - and passed that strand along to me.

Well, hmmm, wouldn't you know, herself had two pink and gray felt wrist cuffs cut out with plans to sew and bead them -- but just could not get a bead plan to suit herself. Two days of looking at the Rhodonite beads and viola an idea emerged, now a week later, not one, but two Stone and glass bead on Wool felt cuffs have emerged. Yipee! Got the gray and pink felt out of the WIP pile and the cast off stones found a warm home.

I do not think I'd have purchased the stones on my own, but am so pleased to have acquired them and really enjoyed creating with them.

Huh! Cool idea, does the felt bracelet cuff actually help keep you warm a bit more?

I love it when two non-related purchases/creations fall in love....
