Preparing for Valentine's Shoppers

The Hatbox got a face lift. It is many degrees below zero F and not many shoppers out. Still those who brave the cold might find some brightness a happy sight. So down came the rich velvets and feather hats and up went the red, purple and pink.

Had planned to get this out by Jan 14 -- but as you all can tell have been MIA for a bit. First was sick for a couple of days, yuck. But after the enforced rest, finally hit on a new idea for some new heart shape brooches and some short fun stick pins for this years edition of Valentine Pins. It took some focus to get them made quickly.

Then more time to get them tagged and onto the inventory list; finally spent 4 hours at the booth rearranging and refreshing. Did not even get them photographed at home - so here is a view of how some look at the store.

How fun to see your brick and mortar storefront. The pins are certainly whimsical/flirty. I'd need to have my wink fully up to speed to wear those plummy pins. Ah, winks. Don't you think an occasional wink is fun? Adds zest to the day.

Sorry you were troubled by the bug going around. Bleech on that.

Thank you so much for your kind words about my daughter, and your spunky comments to us. Jane, I am so glad to have you as a cyber friend. Maybe we will meet in real life (quilt show anyone???) and talk until our jaws fall off. Not a pretty sight, but wouldn't that be fun.

As usual, everything is beautiful.

On to a hat problem, my husband has decided that he has a wool blanket that needs to be made into a hat, but he can't find a pattern for the hat he wants. I'm going to post a link to the hat he wants on my blog. If you happen to know of a pattern out there anywhere, I'd appreciate the help :)
