Winter Beading Challenge Entry

Winter Blooms Beret is my entry in the "Anything Goes" Category of the Winter Beading Challenge on Etsy.

Sponsored by Lava Jewelry. Bead sets were available for purchase and to be used in entries in one of two categries: "Only the beads" or "Anything Goes."

My original intent was to use all of the beads received. I did do some heavier beading on one flower, but found it just too much color and glitz, so scaled back to keep this a fun daily wearable beret.

The beads used are:
Two focal beads - a blue glass leaf shape pendant and a metal snowflake.
All of the blue flower glass beads.
All of the small clear and silver leaf beads.
All of the faux pearls.
Seed beads - most of the milky white one and many of the silver center clear ones. Stamens for the blue flowers each have 3 seed beads -one blue metallic , one silver center metallic, and one lavender metallic.

Many view and poses of Winter Blooms Beret are in a flickr album.

More information on the Winter Beading Challenge can be found here.

Gallery of entries to date can be found in this flickr group. Entries can be made until Feb 1, 2008. There are already a number of beautiful pieces. Most, so far, like me, did not use all the beads. But there are a few extremely creative ones that incorporated all the beads in grogeous designs. A tip of the hat to those!
