Alchemy heads out to help with morning farm chores.

Awakened while it was still dark. Alchemy joined Jane in a cuppa coffee and quick online email and store check. Helped feed the house cat and then
Ridding in Jane's inner pocket while doing morning chores
at first light dressed in a plastic raincoat, snuggled into Jane's pocket and off we went to do morning chores.

Alchemy heads out to help with morning farm chores.
First stop, tour the inner corral, looking over pregnant cows, who might calf soon and looking for any calves born overnight.

Alchemy and Ramada, Ramada is hanging out alone in the loafing shed -- perhaps a sign of pending birth, put her on the watch closely list.

Ramada is hanging out alone in the loafing shed... hmmm she is acting like she is getting ready to drop her calf, will put her on the watch closely list.

Then into the barn to feed and liberate the dog, Ogee, from his barn suite.
Alchemy meets Ogee and puts food in his dish He stays here at night, then moves onto a big outdoor kennel during the day.

However, he also goes on 4 daily walks. Alchemy telling Ogee to walk slower This is the first one today.

Alchemy getting a good look at Tranquility Pastures Farm, as we round the corner and head to dog kennel.
Coming around the corner of the front pastures and field trail, Alchemy gets a good look at Tranquility Pastures.

A busy morning, time for breakfast. Ah yes, Frank is now up and has oatmeal cooking. Yum. Off to chow down.

Hi Maggie, always so nice to have a visit from you. Alchemy thinks your blog is grand.

Rose, so pleased you enjoyed the tour. As of last night 4 calves are here, 16 more expected. The black and white cow, Ramada, did have her calf, quite as Alchemy predicted, shortly after breakfast, yesterday.

LG and Pamela, thanks so much. Alchemy and I are both enjoying the comments.

I've forgotten, what bred of dog is Ogee? I've a feeling he's quite exotic isn't he? I'm so glad Alchemy is making herself useful, sometimes meerkats can be mischievous.

Thanks Nifty, Ogee is a Norwegian Elkhound. Like meerkats, they are very intelligent and can be mischievous. With both Alchemy and Ogee, we find they keep us on our toes; life is not dull for sure. :D

Looks like Alchemy is having a great time living on the farm! When I was 16 I lived on a farm in Germany for 3 weeks - it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life - so different from the city. Now I'm a farm girl myself (except with apples, goats, emus, chickens and dogs - no cows...).
